How is tuning done on a vehicle?

We do not change or modify any hardware in your vehicle, we just re-calibrate the operating parameters (maps) in the ECU’s program, this program can be accessed many times by your car’s on-board diagnostics port (OBD), in other cases we need to bench boot your cars ECU with special equipment, with no soldering or changing Memory chips.

Our technician will then upload the original map to our map writing team who will adjust the parameters to maximize the performance, fuel economy or a clever blend of both. Depending on the vehicle and ECU type and your special needs, the remapping process can take under two hours if we are in a working time of the specific engineer in need typically before 2 PM.

We will store in our private servers your OEM file as a backup if you ever want to return your car to its original state in case you wish to return your vehicle’s ECU to its original default settings, this can be done easily and free of charge (one time).
